10am- 4pm National Nappuchino and cloth demos by The Cloth Nappy Library
Curious about cloth? Come and have a chat with our volunteers about all things cloth, have a look and feel of the nappies. We will have volunteers available all day to talk about all things cloth and we can also discuss how local and national loans work! We love to chat with both the seasoned pro about our fluff addiction as well as offering advice to the absolute novice to get them started, make sure to drop by and say hi!
10am- 4pm Kids Zone
Play area and colouring competition Thankfully whilst you chat about the fluff, the little ones can be occupied right beside you in the room, playing with a wide selection of toys or taking part in the coloring competition, there will also be fresh fruit available for snacking on!
10.30am-12.30pm Genie Mackers Entertainment
Children of all ages are going to just LOVE getting involved with the entertainment by Genie Mackers, highlights to include: Face and arm painting, magic show, and puppets as well as a bubble disco and party games! The Genie Mackers entertainers (as seen on RTE) are magicians, storytellers, actors, and face painters!
12.30am-1.30pm Playball by Wendy
Playball is a great way to introduce your children to the fundamentals of sport in general, with a focus on movement and having fun, this should be a real hit with the little ones! This was a big hit last year with young and old alike!
2.00pm-3.30pm Dross Evolution
A fantastic fun and creative workshop where children get to use their imagination to create art, craft and games out of repurposed materials all whilst learning about sustainability and how they can personally make a difference! Suitable for children aged 5 and up.
10.30-11.00/ 11.30-12.00/ 1.30-2.00 Baby Sensory
we even have something very special for our tiniest visitors, we are delighted that Ciara from the Kildare and Carlow branch of baby sensory will be holding several classes throughout the day! This multi-award-winning class uses glowing balls, light shows, puppets, bubbles, petals, massage, signing and songs to stimulate baby’s imagination. There will be a demonstration of some of these activities designed to support you and your baby from birth. If you haven’t tried Baby Sensory this is a must for you and your baby! Talks and Demos for the “Grown Ups”
10.30am-11.30am Leah Bryans Womans Health Physiotherapist
Leah Bryans is a Chartered Physiotherapist in Women’s Health and a Pilates instructor specialising in pregnancy and post-natal care, her talk will be informal and aim to meet the needs of those who attend – specifically giving advice on return to restorative exercise post pregnancy. Exercise to ease the postural aches and pains of motherhood and strengthening the core and pelvic floor.
11.30pm-12.20pm The Comedy Green by Diane O’Connor
If you enjoyed “Breastfeeding Al Fresco” then you will LOVE this new sketch by one of our own Diane O’Connor. Parenting wasn’t enough craic by itself so Diane decided to take some of the convenience out of it. Hello cloth nappies , see you later baby wipes! The Comedy Green is a fun and informative show on how to be an ECO parent while staying sane – almost! Expect funny stories, practical tips and the 5 F’s of parenting! Take time out from the shopping to relax and have a few laughs with Diane!
12.30pm-2.00pm Natural beauty products workshop, by AB Soap Ltd.
It’s time to ditch the shampoo and liquid soap bottles! Make sure you don’t miss this extremely popular workshop by AB Soap, learn practical tips and natural body care recipes for you and your baby/children as well as zero waste cleaning products for a more sustainable household. We will also answer all questions you might have about transitioning to and using shampoo bars/no ‘poo hair care.
2.00pm-3.00pm Climate Generation By Lorna Gold
As well as author to the book “Climate Generation” Lorna Gold is Head of Policy and Advocacy in Trócaire. She has worked in international development in an academic and NGO policy context for almost 20 years. She currently manages a team of policy specialists pursuing Trócaire’s advocacy agenda on climate justice, business and human rights and development finance. Her talk will focus on how families can lead the way in advocating for climate change and how each of us can live a more sustainable life. This talk is not to be missed!
3.00pm-4.00pm Nutrition Unravelled By Paul Juggins
Qualified Nutritionist & Health Coach, Paul Juggins will share techniques for optimum post-pregnancy health, to benefit you and your baby. He will advise you on how to implement sustainable solutions for regaining energy and health. The talk will inform mums on how to aid healing and replenish the body after the physical and nutritional demands of pregnancy and childbirth.
10am- 4pm Ethical and Eco shopping
A great selection of sustainable and gentle parenting vendors, some of your regulars and some new ones this year too! Please see the directory for all your favourites. All our vendors are strictly WHO code compliant. There should be lots of bargains to be found so enjoy the shopping!
